Our corner of East Sussex is famous for its spectacular countryside and coastline, but if you’re looking for more than beautiful scenery, you won’t be disappointed.

For music lovers there are numerous concerts and festivals to enjoy, right here on our doorstep as well as a little further afield.

On Sunday 8th July we welcome harpist Fiona Hosford to Deans Place Hotel for what promises to be a mesmerising recital, with a delicious afternoon tea included.

Fiona’s repertoire combines traditional harp music with a selection of contemporary tunes – a unique combination that has made her a firm favourite at events throughout the UK and abroad, where her audiences have included well-known celebrities. Fiona is a fantastic performer with a great personality to match, and we cannot wait to hear stories of her travels and experiences – as well as her wonderful music of course!

The recital takes place from 2pm to 4.30pm and tickets cost £29, including afternoon tea. To book your place, call our events team on 01323 870248.

Fancy a festival?

If you like to enjoy the festival vibe but prefer to avoid the camping element, why not stay at Deans Place Hotel and book a day ticket to one of the music weekenders in East Sussex this summer?

There’s the Love Supreme festival at Glynde Place from Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July 2018, with a line-up including Elvis Costello, Earth Wind and Fire, and George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic.

The famous Rye International Jazz and Blues festival runs from Friday 24th August to Monday 27th August this year. With concerts at various venues in and around the historic seaside town of Rye, the line-up is as diverse as ever, with headliners including jazz vocalist of the year Zara McFarlane, saxophonist Courtney Pine, and singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading.
