In our last blog we told you all about the wonderful artisan food producers who supply our chefs with the best of local produce. Now we’d like to shine a spotlight on our latest drinks menu, which features some fabulous brands sourced from the heart of East Sussex . . .
Craft breweries have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and East Sussex has its share of success stories.
Here at Deans Place Hotel, we are delighted to stock a number of ales from award-winning Long Man Brewery. Based in the village of Litlington, water for Long Man beer is drawn from an aquifer beneath the chalky South Downs. On our bar menu you’ll find Long Man American Pale Ale, Long Blonde, and Crafty Blonde – each one is distinct and well worth sampling to get a unique taste of the Downs!
Harvey’s Brewery in Lewes has been a landmark of the town for over 200 years. It’s still an independent, family business and its signature bitter, Harvey’s Best, is always a favourite with guests. (Lewes is also a beautiful town to visit, and you can even book a brewery tour.)
Time for a G&T?
Just as craft beers have gained a following, artisan distilleries are now producing some wonderfully imaginative gins. Our gin menu offers a choice of 26 brands, many sourced from local distilleries such as Brighton Gin and Seven Sisters. Sipping a G&T on our terrace overlooking the beautiful Deans Place gardens is a summer luxury not to be missed!
Soft drinks a speciality too
For those who prefer a non-alcoholic drink, the delectable flavours from local supplier Folkington’s will get your taste buds zinging. We stock Folkington’s gently sparkling Elderflower, Rhubarb & Apple, Lemon & Mint, and Ginger Beer pressés. Perfect for quenching your thirst after a walk in the stunning countryside on our doorstep.
Enjoy a stay at Deans Place Hotel
Whether you’re planning a short break or a longer holiday, we’d love to welcome you to our country hotel this summer to enjoy our outstanding food, drink and accommodation.
