Much as we love to celebrate the romance of Valentine’s Day, we think it’s a shame to limit the fun to February. Here at Deans Place Hotel, couples can create special memories right through the year.

Here are our five top reasons why a visit to Deans Place is often the start of an enduring love affair not just with our hotel, but all that this beautiful area of East Sussex has to offer.

1. Stunning scenery

From the majestic South Downs Way to meandering paths through dappled woodland, the countryside on our doorstep is truly breath-taking. It has inspired generations of artists and poets, and it’s easy to see why. As the seasons change so do the views, but whether you’re wrapped up in winter scarves or enjoying the summer sunshine, hand-in-hand walks are sure to set your pulses racing!

2. Beautiful coastline

Rugged cliffs, shingle beaches, and even sand dunes – there are so many different East Sussex beaches offering a rich diversity of wildlife and vistas. Seaford Bay is just a few minutes’ drive from our Alfriston hotel, while Camber Sands is an hour away, but well worth a visit. If you like to get particularly close to the elements, there’s even the naturist beach close to Brighton Marina.

3. Fabulous food and drink

Food is our passion here at Deans Place, and with two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, you can expect exciting menus and new tastes to discover. Our wine cellar is superbly stocked, and at the bar you’ll find a huge choice of drinks and cocktails including a menu of over thirty gins, many of which are distilled locally. Why not share a memorable meal with your loved one, rounded off with an indulgent dessert such as a triple chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate sauce? The perfect end to a romantic night!

4. Sleep in style

Our 36 individually-styled bedrooms are a refreshing alternative to the identikit blandness of many corporate hotels. Here at Deans Place, rooms are sympathetically decorated to reflect our country heritage, and many offer wonderful views of our grounds and the rolling countryside beyond. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and digital TV/radio. Supreme comfort and sweet dreams guaranteed!

5. Culture on the doorstep

Opera at Glyndebourne, Bloomsbury art and literature at Charleston House, Banksy street art in Brighton and Hastings – whatever your tastes, our local area will whet your cultural appetite. Alfriston village itself has a rich history, with medieval buildings and quaint narrow streets that are perfect for a relaxed wander before returning to Deans Place for afternoon tea or even a cocktail or two.

We hope to welcome you and your partner to Deans Place soon, so that you can discover for yourself the romantic delights that our hotel and the surrounding area have to offer.
