Gorgeous wedding trends for the coming year
Here at Deans Place Hotel, every wedding we host is totally unique. The sense that your wedding will be unlike any other begins the moment you set foot inside our historic grounds.
Over the years (and the centuries!) we’ve weathered all kinds of fashions and trends to become a leading hotel and wedding venue in this beautiful part of Sussex. Although our marriage celebrations will always reflect the personal style of the bride and groom, we also like to keep an eye on current trends in the wedding planning world.
So what’s likely to be in vogue for 2018? We’ve put together five key trends to give you inspiration as you plan your big day . . .
Green is the colour . . . But so is pink, and yellow! The fashion for natural greenery and all things botanical is still going strong, but pink is growing in popularity too, along with yellow in all shades from mustard to zingy lemon. Don’t feel you have to pick one colour as a central theme – these days it’s all about mix and match (or even mix and clash . . .).
Go for the glow . . . Neon signs are big news in interiors, so it’s no surprise that they’re becoming a must-have feature in wedding ceremonies right now. Signs can be hired or custom-made – if you go for the personalised option, you’ll also be left with a wonderful keepsake to hang in your home after the celebrations.
Vintage rocks . . . We love the relaxed feel to wedding dresses and decor these days. Vintage trends are stronger than ever, often blended with boho to create stunning lacy and floaty designs that are glamorous without feeling too fussy or frilly.
Luxurious velvet . . . This sumptuous fabric adds depth and texture, whether it’s included as part of a bridal outfit, such as a chic wrap, or even as a simple accent, for example as a velvet tie on a bouquet or table napkin.
Weekender weddings . . . Perhaps it’s an offshoot of the festivals craze, but more and more couples are opting to spread their celebrations over a whole weekend. At Deans Place Hotel, we are perfectly placed to accommodate this kind of wedding, with 36 individually-styled bedrooms. Located on the edge of idyllic Alfriston village, a weekend wedding offers the perfect excuse to explore the inspiring South Downs countryside on our doorstep. If the happy couple fancy a walk out across the fields, they can even don a pair of ‘weddington’ boots – the ultimate in country wedding gear!
At Deans Place Hotel, we definitely don’t do identikit weddings. Trends are simply a leaping-off point to give you ideas as you plan your big bash. Rest assured we will listen to all your dreams and do our very best to make them come true. Why not give us a call on 01323 870248 to discuss our latest availability and offers for 2018?
