Join us for world class jazz and tapas this January

After a hectic holiday season, January can seem a little flat. But we’ve been busy as ever planning our latest events, menus and special offers to tempt you back into the social swing.

This month we’re delighted to be hosting a jazz and tapas night. Top British saxophonist Derek Nash – a TV regular and member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra – will be guest-starring with world class jazz band The Drawtones.

Derek is at the forefront of the British jazz movement, and is described by The Guardian as ‘one of the most versatile saxophonists in the UK today.’ Renowned for his energetic and charismatic performances, Derek has played to over 100,000 people at the Glastonbury Festival and to a crowd of 65,000 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. So it’s a real honour for us to welcome him to Deans Place, where we can expect a more intimate but equally appreciative audience!

Playing alongside Derek, The Drawtones are a Sussex-based jazz/funk band comprising organist Rod Pooley, drummer Jessica Dann, guitarist Andy Williams and Simon Brewin on bass guitar. Founded in 2016, The Drawtones have rapidly gained a stellar reputation, gigging at leading jazz venues around the world.

To complement the fantastic music on the night, we’ve devised a delectable tapas menu. Tapas is the ultimate in relaxed dining, which we know you’ll enjoy as you sit back and enjoy the music of a saxophone supremo.

Our jazz and tapas night is on Friday January 26th. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets for the show cost £17, with tapas dining an optional extra. To book, contact our events team on 01323 870248. We look forward to welcoming you to Deans Place Hotel!
