A gracious Sussex Country Hotel, dating back to the 14th century and nestled in the heart of the South Downs with the Cuckmere River winding past, this glorious wedding venue is complemented with magnificent views across the sweeping South Downs Valley.

In the summer, for a garden wedding, exchange your vows under the gazebo in our Wedding Garden, then photos on our pretty riverside bridge and an alfresco reception  on the terraces in front of the hotel.  In winter, make yours a candlelight ceremony in one of our elegant private rooms, followed by a sumptuous feast, with blazing log fires in our bar completing the picture. 

For events and private functions our menus include delectable canapes and  lunches, fine dining or lazy poolside BBQ's. Whatever kind or size of function, we’re here to make it a day that not only you but your guests will remember for a very long time.
